Minimalism is a kind of lifestyle popular among the wise. Sages believe that this life is just a transition passage to a more beautiful and everlasting one. Islam has a religion that admonishes her adherents to live like minimalists. Minimalism is living my life with the most important thing from a permanent perspective. The life of Prophet Mohammed, Peace is upon him, showed this lifestyle as an embodiment.
Holy messenger of Most High lived just to promulgate the worship of only one and true God. He was not after the vain riches of this passing world. In fact, even after defeating his enemies and subjecting them to his rules, he still slept on a mat made from branches. Consider the burial rites of Muslims; from the king to a pauper. It is all the same, a sign that accumulation of wealth does not guarantee more preferences. Death shows that we are nothing without God.
Islam teaches living a minimal lifestyle does not mean that we should not eat good food, wear good clothes or live in a decent house. It simply means that we should not get attached to wealth. Attachment to wealth will rob you of your peace of mind. Worship of God, creating ample time for families, charities, and meditation should be of paramount value to Muslims.
